We were tasked with designing a custom hillside home for a couple that perfectly met their personal needs. The resulting design was truly unique and tailored to their individual preferences.

Due to the site’s limitations with buildable space, we solved the problem by designing a 3-story plan. The home is situated at the back of a hillside, providing privacy and stunning views. The lower level consists of garages, a foyer, and a full guest suite with an elevator for easy access to the rest of the upstairs.

The second story is dedicated to the communal living spaces and features access to two outdoor terraces. The third floor is solely reserved for the luxurious master suite and a separate hobby room. To maximize the garden feel of the site and minimize the structure’s impact on the surroundings, we tucked the master bath and closets into the dormers.

The 3-story plan was a solution to provide the homeowners with sufficient square footage while preserving the existing trees and vegetation on the lot. The exterior design of this custom hillside home is traditional to Cottage style, featuring a river stone and stucco exterior, and steep pitched roofs with copper accents.
